So? Now that you tried to do major preventative maintenance last weekend, did all the screwup fixes work out okay? You should have anticipated that Murphy’s Law was going to come into play as soon as you got it payed off. I don’t think I have ever escaped it, but it has been so long since I owned a vehicle free and clear that my memory is strained. It’s crazy when you wear them out faster than you can pay for them. Maybe after I retire, I’ll be able to go four or five years without running up 200K plus on a ride. On the plus side, it looks as if I will need to put a front tire on the Yamaha this Fall. Got about 6300 miles on it and am dissappointed that I didn’t get to ride as much as I wanted. So far, this Autumn has been kind of wet and I don’t think I want to spend much seat time on wet leaves. This past weekend Mom was sick, so we didn’t get to ride, but the weekend before we were able to go out for about a 100 miles or so. We went down to Varysburg, where there’s a neat Exotic Animal Preserve that a Farmer has and is turning it into a low key resort. Really beautiful. Then we rode aroud to the West to see the windmills. It was nice. The weekend before, I was able togo out to Piffard to the Monastery for Mass and then just beat around for a couple of hours. I just kind of laugh when people around us say something about going to take a Fall Foliage Tour. We’re immersed in one. Too bad the weather is not consistent enough for your club to count on making a tour this way in the Fall. It’s shaping up to be beautiful, this year. I hope the bike does right by you now that it’s yours and not the Credit Union’s. Be well, stay upright.
It’s up and running now, so hopefully I’m good to go for quite a long time. I saw the problems coming, just had hoped I could have avoided them. Like I mentioned on the phone I just want this to last me through until spring. Hopefully by that point I’ll be in a much-improved position regarding a replacement. We’ll see…
I’m so happy for you. It always feels good to get rid of a debt.
